Cassandra Magee first played the violin in Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra in 1979 for 8 years and then viola in 1987 to present for 38 years. She started in violin performance at LSU in 1979 and graduated from LSU in 1985 with a Bachelor degree in Music Education (Orchestra) violin/viola with a minor in piano. She completed my graduate studies at LSU in 1988 with a Masters in Music Education. She taught strings (orchestra) in East Baton Rouge Parish Schools for 9 years, Music Appreciation/History class at Baton Rouge Community College for 1 year (Adjunct Professor), Music Appreciation/History classes, Strings Methods, Debose Preparatory Music Program (private violin, viola, piano & basic guitar lessons) at Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA for 12 years (Adjunct Professor), Acadiana Symphony Orchestra Conservatory of Music (Lafayette, LA) part-time faculty (private violin, viola & piano lessons) for 17 years and a musician (violin/viola) in ASO since 1985 (40 years). She has also played viola in Rapides Symphony Orchestra in Alexandria, LA since 2015 (when her schedule permits). She has occasionally played viola in both the Lake Charles Symphony Orchestra and Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra (New Orleans, LA).
