jordan fajardo-bird
Jordan Fajardo-Bird joined the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra in the Fall of 2025. A native of Iowa City, IA, he began playing percussion at age 11, though his musical studies began on guitar at age 5, and he started piano two years later. Fajardo-Bird earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 2023 from the University of Utah under the tutelage of Dr. Mike Sammons and Utah Symphony percussionist Keith Carrick. He continued his studies with William J. Hudgins, Matt McKay, Daniel Bauch, and Timothy Genis of the Boston Symphony Orchestra while earning his Master’s Degree from the New England Conservatory of Music. Fajardo-Bird is currently a student at Southern Methodist University studying under Dallas Symphony percussionist George Nickson. Prior to joining the Baton Rouge Symphony, Fajardo-Bird has performed with Utah Symphony, Fort-Worth Symphony, Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, and the National Repertory Orchestra.
