lauren m. braud

Dr. Lauren M. Braud is an active freelance musician and educator based in southeastern Louisiana. A native of Gainesville, Florida, she currently serves as the 5th–8th Grade Band Director at Our Lady of Mercy School in Baton Rouge. Lauren performs regularly as 4th horn with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and appears frequently with the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and Acadiana Symphony Orchestra, as well as with various wind and brass chamber ensembles throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida. In addition to her work as a horn player, she is also a pianist who performs for school, church, and community events across the Baton Rouge area. She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Brass Performance with a minor in Jazz Studies from Louisiana State University in 2018. Her previous degrees include an Artist Diploma from SUNY Purchase (2011), a Master of Music in Performance from the University of Texas (2010), and a Bachelor of Music in Brass Performance from Louisiana State University (2008). Lauren is an XO Brass B.A.N.D. Artist and plays an XO 1650D.
