open Audition TO SING WITH THE BRSO
The BRSO is holding an open audition for solo vocalists for our annual Home for the Holidays concert on
December 3rd. This is a special opportunity to perform with a full symphony orchestra and chorus performing holiday favorites for the entire community.
The first round of auditions will be a video submission. Please see the audition requirements below.
Vocalists that are selected to advance will be invited to audition in person at a later date.
This will be a paid opportunity and requires the vocalist to be available for callbacks on November 11 and on December 9th for both a morning rehearsal and an afternoon performance.
SUBMISSION DETAILS
1) Please follow these instructions for the video recording:
Video recordings can be made using whatever device you have available (smartphone, laptop, tablet, etc.)
Videos must be continuous and unedited.
Record one of the following songs (links provided as a guide):
I’ll Be Home For Christmas
2) Upload the recording to YouTube or another preferred storage or video platform. Copy the link to the video and submit it on the online registration form below.
3) Deadline for submission: October 13, 2023. Callbacks will be on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 1 - 3 PM.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPLOADING YOUR VIDEO TO YOUTUBE
Please note: you must be at least 13 years of age or older to have an account. If you are too young, please use an adult’s account.
1) Log in to your YouTube account.
2) Click on the video icon with the plus at the top right side of the window.
3) Click “Upload Video”
4) Click “Select files to upload” to find the video saved on your computer - or drag and drop it into the window.
5) Select the Privacy Setting to be “Unlisted” in the Visibility Options. This will keep the video visible to you and only the people who you share the link with.
6) Click on Share Video, and copy the link.
7) Paste the link into the online registration form.
